VHS to DVD and other transfer services

I would like to really recommend http://www.revivestudios.co.uk/ .
I wanted to get an old family VHS tape (originally from cine film!)copied to dvd for my mum for Christmas. I was googling around to find out how to use the Boots service (£19.99) when I found this site. They only charged £6.99 and as I have 2 copies of the VHS I thought I would give them a try, ordering 3 copies for the price of 1 at Boots.
To cut a long story short I received fantastic value. You can choose a "theme" for the dvd cover and not only that, they picked out a few frames and printed them on the cover too! You can name the disc what you like.
I did ask them a couple of questions - 1 by email and one by phone and both were answered immediately.
I am nothing to do with Revive but was so impressed with them I wanted to recommend. Wish I could put them on the Grabbit board but I think I might get flamed for that!
Thanks for reading
Sue
ps if this is in the wrong place, sorry - just move it!

Veggieblob Can i say a big thank you for posting this. I was only talking to my husband the other day about some videos that we have of our son that i would have to bin as we didnt have a video player. Never did i think about seeing if places put them on a disc, and normally im not that dumb.
So a big thank you, am going to send mine off (after christmas) and it will be lovely to look at my son when he was a baby. (hes now a strapping 6ft 18 yr old :rotfl:cant wait to show him either)0 -

Thanks, I know how you feel. The stuff I had transferred was originally cine film of me and my sister from age about 3 to 23 and I'm 58 now! It all seems somehow safer on dvd than it did on tape! So glad this helped someone.0 -
Thanks so much for this OP!! We were only talking the other week about how to get our home videos of our sons transferred onto DVD - there used to be a little place local to me that did cine film to video, but they went out of business some years ago, and I have not been able to find a similar local service! The place you recommend sounds really good value0

Hi. I felt the same even though I did have a spare copy. They do a collection service but you would have to pay for it. I would suggest phoning them - you do get a real person on the phone and maybe they can suggest something. I definitely wouldn't post anything precious until after Christmas and better weather though!0
