I don't really want to pay the full price + vat which works out at around £2450. I've got £2300 in cash. Do you think they'll accept?

Ask for a discount if your paying cash, and see what they offer, what ever you do don't tell them what your prepared to pay. I've been cheeky in the past with large purchases and been surprised with the discounts, got 25% off once, so its well worth asking. Good Luck!
