Friday 10th Dec 2010- What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!
!
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.!:money:
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Good morning everyone  TFI its Friday :j 8 more hours until freedom

Morning DNMS and all who pop in later.
It is Friday :j:j:j:j
But I have to go into central London today so hope all has calmed down
Not that I don't sympathise with the protesters' grievances - as does everyone who has been or wants to go to uni / believes in social mobility / has kids and is an ordinary sort of person who doesn't have a trust fund and has to work for a living, I should think - but it did look scary on the telly last night
I will be late back as my meeting does not start till 3 and will then have the tube and trains to negotiate in the rush hour
So OH will have to cook the dinner
Not much MSE stuff for me today then, except:
Take packed lunch to work and coffee for on the train
Read free paper (and meeting papers) on the train
Write Xmas cards tonight (good idea, DNMS, but I always dread it for some reason) and list presents still to get
Better get on!! Have a nice day everybody :santa2:0 -
Morning all
DD1 is off to the hospital for 12.45 but she has woken up with a croaky voice and a cough. They say not to be put under if they have a cold so i will have to ring day surgery and see what they say. Trouble is i have washed her uniform and don't really want to send her to school now. They have a mega spelling test which she hasn't practised for as she didn't ecpect to be there.
Today
Hopital - or maybe not
Into town to finish a few peoples presents off
SOA + budget
New diary
Dinner from stores
Not much DFW there today but i struggle at xmas to concrentrate of DFW things!
I hope everyone has a great day xxx (good luck with London today Dawn) xOrange Fairy

Good morning all. After almost a week of a clean/tidy/quiet house DH is back from Hastings. Since I got home from work yesterday, the TV has been on until bedtime (I don't use it!), the kitchen looks like a warzone and I couldn't spread across the whole bed! Ah well, back to the old routine...
So far I have:- made a lunch to take to work
- finished one of DGD's Xmas presents - just buttons to get tomorrow
- checked banking
- paid 2x credit card bills - slightly more than the minimum but it is Christmas coming up so no extra cash
- fed and watered the chickens
- knit at lunchtime - start DGS Xmas present
- buy an almond croissant and eat half for breakfast and half at lunchtme
- check for surveys throughout the day
- get DH to cut my fringe to save £3 at hairdresser
Have a good day; I will as it's accounts/payroll today. :T

Morning All,
Thanks for starting the thread Determined
Hello to those who have posted before and will post after me. Hi to all new posters
Today I have/will
• Checked online banking – moved spare cash as this month is going to be a bit tight
• Check emails
• Breakfast and Dinner from storecupboard (will buy something cheap for lunch)
• Used my rail pass to get to work
• Catch up with friends on FB rather than texting people
• Read newspaper online and get the free newspaper at the station
• Need to check out the freebies and the competition boards
• Drink 4 glasses of water at work
• LSD – only buying something for lunch
• Picked up chocolate from the mini snack pack before I left so I do not succumb to the vending machine when the mid morning snack attack happens!
• Enter comps online
• Washing on a quick wash 30 degrees
• Catch up with this thread when I get home (I don’t get a chance at work)
Feeling really P’d off with life in general so need to change the way I am thinking…..What really topped it off was getting weighed yesterday and putting on 4lb’s – which means that I am at my heaviest EVER!:mad::mad:
I want to scream in frustration (but 31 year old’s cant get away with that) its not like I sit at my desk all day and eat 4 twix, chocolate mouse, gallons (yes really) of cola, no fruit or veg…like the person who sits opposite me does…..and she struggles to fit into a size 6! Major !!!!!!! *****Bl**dy PCOS*********:mad::mad::mad:
Anyhow, rant over, have a great day everyone
