Company giving out my C C info

My wife ordered an item from a web site and paid securely by CC. She received the wrong item with an invoice and CC receipt. The invoice and receipt relate to someone else and these show the other person's name, address, full CC number and expiry date.
Yes, you've guessed it, the company also sent the wrong item to the other person, with a receipt showing my wife's name, address, full CC number and expiry date.
We aren't so worried about receiving the wrong item so much as our CC details being known to a third party. A call to the company concerned was met with a reaction of "what do you expect us to do about it?". They don't seem to understand that sending a customers full CC number, expiry date, name and address is a security issue.
Well, wifie has phoned our CC provider. They've suggested we cancel the CC and get another issued. We've done that...but this means we've had to phone several businesses (including Sky) to get continuous credit card authorities transferred to my CC. Spending time and money on 0870 calls.
I really don't see why we should pay for the cost, time and effort, so we intend billing the company which sent my wife's CC details to a third party. FWIW the business concerned is a small family coy, so I don't think its fair to rip the @rse. A nominal sum such as £25 would, I believe, be reasonable.
I intend writing to the MD along these lines. Any suggestions before I do this would be gratefully received.
Thanks guys.

I would report them to the data protection organisation.
Your're right to cancel the card, better safe than sorry.
This company may have done this before and someone could of been stung by fraud, and they may do it again in the future.Sense is not common.0
