Arghhhhhhh Cooking Chicken Breast

So I am trying to cook chicken breast to go in a baguette and I can't find a simple chicken breast cooking guide anywhere. Is this too simple to be put on the web? I can only find recipes with garlic, butter, etc etc. I'm looking for a healthy and safe way to cook a chicken breast.
Thanks

i usually cook mine on the george foreman grill. time depends on size of breat. it comes out so tender and cooked perfectly. i don't really cook it any other way , unless i pan fry so i can be used in a a sauce or hm pie.
hope this helps a bit.0 -
Wash it first. Wrap in tin foil and pop in oven for approx 25 mins depending on size of breast then slice, pop in baguette and eat. If you want a bit more flavour mix a drop of oil with some herbs, pepper or whatever you fancy then coat the chicken in this before you roast it. Get the idea ? Can also cook on a griddle pan if you have one .0

For sandwiches I also wash it, wrap it in foil with a couple of tablespoons of water and bake it in the over for 20 mins or so. To make an evening meal double the water or add a splash of white wine, serve with mash and veg. :-)When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0

Jut grill it with touch of olive oil first - and salt or herbs if desired, or marinade if desired (touch of balsamic vinegar is nice) but plain is fine - for about 10 minutes or less if small piece. Check it to check cooked, turn over part way through cooking if larger piece.
Easy peasy. Do it on foil on baking tray to save washing up. Quick, simple. You can fry it but rather fatty and microwaving gives it a slightly odd texture, I find.

Frying pan or wok............cook the chicken in water (make sure it is covered) on a medium heat until you feel it is cooked.............i do add a bit of butter;):whistle:Make Hay While The Sun Shines:think:0

You can also now buy steam bags from any supermarket. slice breast evenly and add pepper and maybe herb for flavour then place in bag according to guideline, come with bags purchase. Spread the chicken inside the bag evenly for even cooking. Steamed chichen done properly is very moist and tender and the seasoning is upto you for taste.0

how are you planning to cook it?
In a pan?
Put it in a oiled pan over a medium heat, turn every couple of minutes, check by cuttinng in half after an appropriate time.
In a baking container?
Drizzle with some oil (ideallly with some garlic or lemon olive oil) If skin stilll on rub in some salt, pepper, oil. If no skin still on put some foil over. Either way, bake in the oven for 15, 20 mins, checking how it's doing, leaving in for 5 mins longer otherwise.0 -
Hey,
I guess this is probably well late, and you've already eaten said chicken breast, but I usually wash it, put it in a sandwich bag or in a sheet of cling film and give it a good whack with a meat mallet (flat side) or a rolling pin to make an escalop (thin piece)
That way its all the same thickness and cooks more evenly, and also its thinner, so cooks really quickly.
Then grill or griddle as you see fit. Maybe a twist of black pepper? Shake of cayenne?

Oh dear, I never wash my chicken breasts - but I better start doing it! Can someone tell me why, please? Do you wash only the ones without skin, or also if the skin is still on? And what about chicken thighs .....0

I always thought you shouldn`t wash chicken as all you are doing is spreading the bacteria all over the place,in the splashes of water and touching the taps with your chicken germ hands.I`m sure I seen something about it on the telly? I could be wrong,I never wash chicken, thought the cooking proccess will kill any germs on it aslong as it`s cooked properly.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0
