Been reading through this thread and spotted southernuscuisine and Mrs Sparkle's debt footnote on your posts. Just wondering how on earth are you two managing to tick over with your debt.

Im not sure even Prozac would help me chill out at the mo!!

And bravo too all you who frequent this board, you may not know it but your all a great support, just being their has taken a load of worry off my mind!

Well fortunately I have a good salary so, although my monthly outgoings are huge, I tend to manage. I've been living beyond my means for years and have only just started to spend what I get paid and nothing else. When I worked out the sum total of my debt I can't tell you what a shock that was- I was horrified, mortified, ashamed, upset, you name it. This place helps me to keep it in perspective and I'm actually pretty chilled about my debt now- no more sleepless nights!

Good luck with your own situation :D

Good thread - this can only be positive.

For anyone lurking and reading this, MSE is the best place to get rid of your debt frustration, get those niggly questions answered and tell your story.

You never know, you might have some snippet that we can learn from and that could persuade the NEXT lurker to start dealing with their debt problem.

We are a non-judgemental self-help community and I for one lurked on here for ages without posting. I took all the advice going but now can pass on my experiences and wish those that I am not qualified to advise the best of luck in tackling this life / relationship / home / work / 24hours a day problem.
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.
  • what a great thread and so true

much the same as so many others, this website (not that I post loads but I do lurk) has been an inspiration and really does help you to realise there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

i've been helped so much so thanks to everyone! :T
