Hi,
I have recently been diagnosed with an illness that means I am off work undergoing treatment for the forseeable future (certainly the next 6 months) and have also had to have a fairly major operation.
I am, therefore, unable to work - however, luckily I had protection for my mortgage and car loan that is paying out. However, I have two credit cards (both approx 5k) and I just can't meet the minimum repayments each month anymore.
Can anyone offer any advice on what I can actually ask the credit card companies to do? Can I ask for reduced payments? I realise that my creit rating will take a hit, but that is the least of my worries at the moment...
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jon

Hi
In your sitauation, I recommend you ask one of the debt charities to do the work for you. Creditors are a bit more understanding and people like CAP and CCCS will be able to popint out that they should not be taking actiojn against someone who is seriously ill.
