moses basket mattress

Hi,
a friend of mine is having here 2nd child (expected tomorrow).
She would like to keep her moses basket from her 1st child but have heard that the mattresses can cause problems if you keep them from one child to another.
Anyone know where I can buy a cheap mattress?

Hi I was pregnant a year ago and the doctors and health visitors (I asked a few!) ALL said that sister/brother sharing of the mattress is OK it's when it goes out of the family it's dodgy. In saying that I bought a new one anyway! You sort of feel better getting new eh? I've heard since then that it's ok to share with siblings.

Oh, I didn't know that - I just read that you should get a new mattress every time. They change their minds on these sorts of things all the time. I borrowed a moses basket first time around so needed a mattress (got given one second time around, lucky me) and both cot mattresses as well came from Toys R Us, can't remember how much but they were pretty reasonable.
