My husbands uncle has just got engaged and his fiance has announced she will be buying everyone a christmas present, so i was thinking of doing them an engagement hamper, but not really sure what to put in it.
He is 54 and she is 47, if that helps

Maybe try special hampers available from Bouf, they look terrific

I guess they probably dont need things for the home as such so how about somthing indulgent
Champagne or fizz or nice bottle of wine
some flutes or glasses
chocolates
a plant for the garden...maybe a rose bush
A wedding notebook...you can make one with a picture of a bride or something weddingy on or buy them....but the bride can jot idea for the wedding in it...you could personalise it with their names..topped off with a sparkly pen
all sprinkled with a little confetti
