You might like to buy second-hand - I always seem to see them in charity shops or car boot salesKeep calm and carry on0

Senseo on offer at Argos for £29.99. I got one at the weekend and love it. See this post for advice on others and buying the coffee:

ok im a going to sound like a total idiot but i'm looking to buy a coffee machine and they all seem very technical!? what are the pads/discs that everyone is talking about? the tassimo on argos has had great reviews but can anyone explain how they're actually used? i bought the ground coffee from whittards...is that the sort of stuff you can use?
any advice will be appreciated!
p.s the machine is for my OH...i'm a tea drinker! hence the total lack of understanding0 -
I got a Senseo free from Freegle, although I have seen both Senseo and Tassimo's offered on my local Freegle and Freecycle websites.
That got us hooked, you buy coffee pods (like teabags but with cofee in them) or you can buy a special holder that allows you to put your own coffee in it, or use filter papers folded with your own in. However the normal one does not do latte's.
So given that - my wife preferred latte's she got a Tassimo, there is a wider choice of coffee, chocolate etc in our local Asda and it makes Latte's.
Its about £3.75 for 8 lattes or 16 coffees so it does cost more than instant coffee.
But its quicker than using a kettle, tastes nicer etc.
P.S. you can even do tea in them - but I have never tried that - I prefer to let a bag stew.
Although you do need to clean the machine after use.
Horses for courses, swings and roundabouts - either way - latte's and starbucks coffee at home are quite nice.0 -
