I've been dept free for a couple of years now. no mortgage or loans to pay. I only have the egg money credit card, cash back on purchases paid off in full by DD. I try to buy things I need through ebay,Wholesale or as cheap as possible and often buy second hand if its in good nick. I very rarely buy retail and would never consider the additional insurance or whatever package. Ditched sky all together as bad value, went digital instead. cant remember my light bulb moment or the exact day of dept free, but I think at the moment of any major purchase that I am in a strong position but that I didnt get here by spending. My gem of wisdom is, live for the moment and plan for the future, while making your money work as hard you do by switching and ditching. Working and saving now is key in hard times and old age.

i'm now debt free but still have trouble with spending too much money and frittering it away.

anyway being debt free I was able to pay £30 today without a flinch for my office christmas night out. This will be the first one i've been to in a few years so i'm really looking forward to it.
