How much should I ask for?

Have been approached by a company that is going to launch a new comping website, facebook and twitter pages - asking if i'd run it for them. Also regular articles on comping.

Have a meeting next week in reading - they are paying in advance for my travel and paying for a meal and drinks etc..

They said in call that all my expenses will be covered.

How much and how should I charge for this work?
An hourly rate, a piece rate?

I have no idea.

Am thinking of asking for a new laptop and broadband dongle for a start, and for money towards expenses such as gas, electric, phone as I will be working from home.

But for the actual work itself? Not got a clue - will probably be pretty full time running website, twitter and facebook for them.

Any ideas? At the moment don't know if i'm going to be employed by them or self employed/freelance. But they have mentioned getting information for contract together in our meeting.

Am so very excited - looks like I can make a living from comping - just not in the way I expected.
Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!

My OH does a similar thing for a company - he runs their Facebook, Twitter and writes articles for their website. He gets £50 a week for the social networking side of it, and then something like £20 an article, depending on length. Sometimes they get him to do special one offs for the site, like content for their 'about' page or whatever, and for that he gets from £40-£200 extra.

He works from home and doesn't ask for any expenses, only when they ask him to do something that involves him going out and buying things (like when he had to make recipes for it, etc). However he does this part time alongside his full time job so I don't know about working full time.

Hope that gives you some sort of idea :p Congrats though, sounds like an awesome job! :D
