Fixing outdoor Christmas lights to apex and guttering?

I moved house last Easter and I now live in a bungalow with an apex at the front. I would love to put up the outdoor Christmas lights I bought in the January sales last year but I'm not sure how to fix them.
The side of the house has guttering but the apex is UPVC facia boards and no guttering.
I bought some plastc gutter hooks from the Christmas section in Tesco yesterday but I would like to get the lights tight so they don't sag.
Any help would be appreciated.
