Online Delivery Best Before Dates.

I know the supermarkets say they have people that will pick groceries as carefully as you would yourself but this is rubbish. I got my tesco shop yesterday and 50% of the fresh stuff, yoghurts, chicken, prawns ... is out of date tommorow. That's a week's food. I'll end up throwing some of it away now.

I can't see the order picker giving a damn. I guess they probably just take the first pack of chicken they see and the stuff at the front is always out of date in a day or 2.

Does anyone else have this experience? Are any of the other online delivery supermarkets better than tesco for this? Tesco does seem to be cheaper but not if I throw it away.

It also bugs me that they're using the online delivery service to palm off all their out of date in a day goods.

    Debt-free and Proud!
I have never had this problem. At Tesco the driver tells me when there is something in the delivery that has " a shorter date then we would like" Sometimes nothing, sometimes 1 item.

Have you tried phoning or e-mailing them, if this wasnt pointed out to you by the driver or not listed speratly on the bill as mine usually is.
Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.

I take your point about them pointing out if stuff's out of date tommorow but most of it is out of date 2 or 3 days after delivery. What are we supposed to do, get the shopping every 2 or 3 days?
