Topcashback are doing 14.89% cashback as well. Double VAT back!!
Let's not be too harsh with people who were expecting 17.5% off, it is a common mistake to make and at least everyone who reads this thread will be better informed in future.

Thanks for the speedy responses everyone! Unfortunately, I missed the boat. Not with Sony but play.com. How play could up the price from £500 to £660 over midnight...I don't know but it must have been a pricing error or a really good deal I missed by a few minutes
Oh well, next cheapest retailer is £525 with next day delivery so I'll go for that!

Took me less than 5 minute to find the answer by using google to search for the Sony site, found participating retailers quickly after that. Maybe if you had tried the same rather than wasting time getting other people to search for you; you would have caught the deal....just a thought, do some foot work yourself in future rather than being lazy.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

Sorry I wasted your time. In my defence I jumped straight to Sony's T&Cs and this was what I found:Legal UK residents that purchased an eligible Sony product from an authorised Sony dealer/reseller located in the UK between 28 October 2010 and 24 December 2010 (inclusive) are entitled to submit a claim for their Cashback...
And when I tried to checkout on Play.com, their T&Cs said they are in Jersey and any import duty that is liable must be paid by me.
Fail on my part.0 -
The statement you said that they have in small print is their disclaimer. They've done nothing wrong, so have covered their backs on an advertising point of view. I work in advertising. They've not mis'led, you've just not been expained it or read it properly. Sorry.Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140

Meh. Got my VAT back from Sony today. They worked it out wrong
Ex-VAT price: £472.33. Invoice amount £554.99.
E.g. This implies VAT of £82.66 @ 17.5% was paid by me.
Sony took the £472.33 as the inc. VAT price, so only refunded me £70.35. Disappointed with Sony but never mind!0
