Hi
I am looking for some advice the type of work my father does is outdoors and is effected by the weather he has been advised that they are being laid off until the weather improves and will be paid £21 per day for the next 5 days and then nothing until weather has improved. What are his rights regarding this? I have looked online but cant find anything relevant
Thanks in advance for any help you can give

Is he an "employee" of a company?
What does his contract say?0 -
If he is an employee (and not a self-employed contractor) then this booklet may provide some useful information:

Looks like they know what they are doing, as long as the layoff/short working terms are in the contracts
