Well the big countdown for me is on now, and as it is such, I just would like to take a moment to thank everyone that helped me almost a year ago when I was in a state of absolute despair.
I have spent the day reading through some posts on here from new and about to be made bankrupts, and all those feelings that you are putting down in words ring so absolutely true with me. So many questions, so few answers; but believe me, it does and will get better.
I still get the odd letter, but a phone call soon puts them to rights, and the house hasn't moved, so still have the mortgage and associated loans on the house to pay; but one thing that has been absolutely priceless is not being scared of the postman or the knocks on the door anymore.
I was convinced that bankruptcy could only be a bad thing, but with the benefit of being able to look back over the last twelve months, I am kind of glad it was enforced upon me. I have been able to look at my life and decide what is and isn't important; and looking back, so many things that I thought were actually aren't. So what that I don't get a designer jumper for Christmas or have the latest mobile phone - it's just stuff.
My wife loves me to bits and that's all that matters. Sometimes I wish bankruptcy had happened sooner.
Keep your collective chins up those that are struggling with this, as I said earlier, it can and will get better.
I have copied a link in from my first post on here, very strangely I am ill again, but other than that all is pretty good.
Thanks again to everyone that helped with advice or a cyber shoulder to lean upon.
Derek.

Yay, it's all done!
I have had a little dance around the house with a treat to myself - a can of beer in celebration.
Can someone tell me where I can see details of the discharge?0 -
Hi Derek, so pleased for you and would of loved to have seen the dance!!:D
To normally see confirmation of discharge you would click the link below but unfortunately the insolvency service website isn't working at present and hasn’t for a few months
http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/
You can contact your OR and ask for confirmation in writing they will do this for free.
Best wishes

Thanks Derek, print off several copies showing your discharge status, this will help with your credit file clean up later.......bear in mind after three months your name will disappear.
Cheers again Derek "If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"
