I doubt this company has an SIA license and presumably noone has told them they need one. However, I feel major clamping companies have something to learn in that £5 is enough to stop people parking like eejits. It looks like another sign was placed over the top at some point.

If more PPC charged reasonable fees, people wouldn't grumble so much about paying it to release their car, so consequently wouldn't resort to bully-boy tactics of questionable legality. They've only themselves to blame for all the bad publicity they get.0
