Refund for snow?

Hello all
Apologies of this has been covered, I can't find one relating to my specific problem.
I was due to attend a gig last week but couldn't get there due to the snow. It wasn't cancelled, but I knew I'd have little chance of getting there from Kent and zero chance of getting home. I paid for the tickets with a Mastercard and I've read all the rules that state that they will refund if the show is cancelled but would/should they refund for something like this? The tickets cost me a total of £120 so I'm over the £100 threshold. It wasn't the fault of the venue, act, promoters, ticket agent (Ticketmaster) etc, but equally it wasn't my fault. Is it worth me making a claim?
Cheers.

No. Everyone kept to their end of the bargain. It's an 'act of God' that no one is responsible for.0

Cheers, that's what I guessed but someone suggested it so thought I'd look into it.0 -
No problem. Best bet is to to keep the tickets nice and pristine in case they become valuable in the future - ie you were going to see the 2010 equivalent of Jimi Hendrix.
If however you were on your way to see JLS, I suggest you bin them and never speak a word of it to anyone.0 -
Some card companies do provide free insurances, so for example Egg Money provide missed event cover if you are unable to attend.
So it's worth checking your card company (on line or phone them) to see if this applies to you.
It's also worth bearing in mind for the future and potentially taking out such a card to buy tickets with (£1 monthly fee for Egg money).
I don't think this cover is common.0 -

Also worth bearing in mind for the future that some of the ticket agencies (such as TicketMaster) offer event insurance for a small fee to cover things like this.
Looking at the Ticketmaster policy, it would cover you if you were delayed by a traffic jam or because public transport did not run as timetabled, but not if you simply decided not to travel.

Ha! It was Arcade Fire, really gutted - wouldn't have minded so much if it had been JLS I'd missed!0
