i got martins email the other week and played the news of the worlds bingo game online, was well impressed with my free £5 i won £42.34! thats what made me put my 'look for free things and dont waste things i got' hat on. and i withdrew 40.34 of that and spent £2 trying my luck on another win... a little while ago i may have spent all of that trying to win again. well done me.
I will defo have to post some 'help me all ive got is peanut butter and cauliflower to make my dinner with' posts when it gets near the end of the week!October 2006 debt at 11,125.78

Well done you on the £40+ drawdown! - Thats a week's "free" drinking!! :T
No worries about the cauliflower and peanut butter - the ladies and gents on the Old Style board are amazing (and I'm sure they can come up with at least half a dozen edible recipes for just those two ingredients!!!)... :rotfl:
Really have to sign off and go to bed now... (can't believe its so late... - and I'm so old...
- its really well past my bedtime!!
).
Have a great weekend!

Hi Kev,
You seem to be making a good start - nice one.
I see no one's mentioned Sky. Could you get rid of it and get a Freeview box instead as that would save you about £200 per year?Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0 -
|Had thought about it, i would lose sky sports but then i have friends who have it, im sure if i was to go over theres with a few lagers for them they would let me watch the football! I have to speak to my flatmate about it, what we were planning to do was cancel sky as its in my name, i;ll tell em im moving out so something, and then she would sign up in her name and get what ever offer is going... normally a few months for half price.
Does anybody know what channels you get on freeview?? Got sjy at the moment, bar sports i tend to watch bbc3, e4 more 4 and know i can get these, i do like uk gold ( royale ffamily and alan partridge), and my flat mate likes uk living for most haunted and derek ackorer (typo), however that wouldnt be much of a loss to me if that wasnt on ! ;-)October 2006 debt at 11,125.78

ok its been a while since i been on here, and that led to bad things.
I'm going to sort out my signature tomorrow, get all the amounts right, but feel that ive not gotten anywhere recently, especially with xmas and the new year. However my new years resolution is to sort things out.
Until last week i had fallen into bad habits, and on one plus side to make money i sold a old mobile phone on ebay for £50! and a coupel of saturdays ago i recieved in the post payment, in cash for the phone.. £58 to be exact (P+P). Unfortunately it was the morning of my flatmates birthday, knowing that i was meeting him in the pub later i just stuck the money in my wallet and thought that'll save a trip to the cash point. and as things went i had a good night, got home about 3am.. with a fiver left, which is not unuasual (it is something ive cut down on though). What made it worse is that i owe my mum £60, and whilst she doesn't need it i hate being in debt to family and friends, and i still havent managed to raise that amount to pay her back yet... So here i am, back again all ready to sort it out. I worked out all my charges to claim off of Natwest today and written the letter all ready to be stamped and sent. I'm asking for £856.85 but will take it without the interest if offered.
Whilst my natwest bank account is worse than ever and my A&L account just plain empty, i have made agreements with Natwest Bank, Natwest C/C and Mint C/C to pay back set amounts for the next 6 months. I'll be sending letters to Burtons, Mint and Natwest Credit Cards soon asking for statements and will try to claim charges from them as well. I know that this isnt the long term soulution, but am going to try my best not to incur the charges anymore.
FINALLY - if anybodys still reading this beast of a message, im trying to work out how to pay my debts off, is it better to evenly pay the debts off when the interest rates are similair, or should i make minimum payments on certain cards whilst trying to pay off a specific one asap? I only owe Natwest and Burtons a few hundred pounds each, but owe Mint £1600. I quite like the idea of the feelgood factor in paying off cards, but am not sure if prolonging the life of my Mint card is a good idea. does it even matter? any advice would be nice. :-)
and so anyway, back to square one and time to start again!October 2006 debt at 11,125.78

morning kev:hello: january is the start of a new year for you! get back on track and dont look back only forward! id be tempted to pay natwest and burtons off first just to get shot of them and you dont have to worry about missing payments etc anymore plus im sure that burtons has a high interest as well. you are doing great but time to get focused now...best of luck...angchrisproper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!

Hi there!
Don't feel too bad about falling off the wagon so to speak - it's great that you've got the enthusiasm to pick yourself up and get back on!
I see what you mean about the cards - it would be encouraging to see the biggest balance going down.
Think I remember from your SOA that interest rates were not listed - maybe you could find that out and list them here for us to look over (well someone less numerically challenged than me!). It may be worth to pay certain cards off first.
Also have you looked into getting a 0% balance transfer card?

i cant belive its monring! time to go bed soon i think, spent way too much time one this website tonight. But, it has got me focused!
Burtons is 25% so will do that one first. im skint until June as Natwest are taking all my money to get my current account sorted! but will be able to concentre on paying off small debts all ready tpo be payed off for in time for christmas! The £800 in charges will come in helpful as well, fingers crossed!

will post updated soa tomorrow (later on today lol) with interest rates.. like in last post burtons is a must.
0% interest card is highly unlikely... this time last year natwest told me i could have anything i wanted... and now i doubt i could get a tv on hire purchase. Ive missed alot of payments recently, all part of the burying my head in the sand til it want away...October 2006 debt at 11,125.78
