American mortgage comparison sites...anyone know any?

Hey all.
My hubby is American, and whilst I am awaiting my visa to live with him again he is researching mortgages and trying to find a good loan.
Id love to find a similar site to this, or something like money supermarket etc, just for american loans.
I have tried googling things such as 'american mortgage', 'usa mortgage comparison' etc but no good links are popping up.
Anyone know of any good sites?
thanks

Hi Faye
I don't know any sites, but when googling, you might have more luck if you click on 'Advanced Search' in Google, and then click on 'Date, usage rights, numeric range, and more' and then click on the 'Region:' drop down list, and select "United States". This will enure that only US sites are listed in the results.
You should then search for "mortgage" or "mortgage comparison" - don't include the words "usa" or "american". And ignore the first few results wich will be UK based, paid-for adverts.
The reason being that US mortgage sites will typically not have page titles or keywords like "USA Mortgages" or "American Mortgages". (In the same way that UK comparison sites don't tend to have headings like "British Mortgages", so googling for "British Mortgages" doesn't turn up many useful links.)
I hope this helps.0 -
It does thankyou
The issue im running into is that whereas in the Uk we have sites like this, America's tend to be state based so because its such a large country there aren't very many comparison sites.
I tried what you recommended and got some helpful local contacts for hubby to ring, so its definitely a good starting point0 -
rent first...prices have fell upto 99% and are still falling with no end in sight.. i did put 50% but have a look at the houses in detriot you can buy for 100 dollarsIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

We think were ready to buy, tired of wasting money on high high rent and mean rent agencies :P
We couldnt move to detroit, would have to stay somewhat near hubbys job0
