In reply to G51shopaholic posted 28 Dec. I have received a similar bundle of confusing post from Aviva. I phoned the number in the 'red alert' letter (0800 953 1777) to enquire what was going on. The helpline operator told me it was sent in error, did not apply to my policy (she hadn't asked for my details at that point) and to ignore it. They should really have only sent the red alert letter (warning me of the shortfall in maturity value in 2 years time).
I pointed out that the form I received said that I will 'lose the guarantees associated with my policy' if I did not reply by 8 Jan, and asked for written assurance that this was not the case. She then asked for my policy no. and after a few mins on hold she came back and told me that a correction letter was being sent to me. New red alert letters would be sent some time in the near future.
I hope that they take more care calculating my final bonus in two years time!
