Can anyone recommend a decent scanner? A while back i read that the Epson 1670 and Canon Lide 35 or 3200F were ok. The price levels seem to be similar (£50 incl del), and most of the scanning will be text with a few pictures, dont expect to be scannning negatives but that would be nice i suppose.

Any suggestions?

The cannon Lide 35 is an excellent product my brother has one and has never had a problem with it.

For a little more the Epson perfection 2480 is even better, this is the one i bought recently after my umax died.

Not being very technically minded my expertise of scanners is somehwat limited. As long as it can handle scanning textbooks, articles, hotos etc, it will do for me. Also my computer desk area is looking a tad cluttered so the lide 35 wouldnt take up too much space.

Prices on the net when adding delivery come to about £50for the lde 35, which is the same as in argos. So i may pop down to argos tomorrow.

Its always better getting someone to vouch for somehing before buying it so ta for the advice.
