Sorry if this is the wrong forum.... not quite sure where to post it to be honest.
Ive placed an order with a company online but Im now getting worried that Ive been scammed!
The order was placed 11 days ago with Daft 4 Arts N Crafts Ltd of Swindon.
Ive emailed, Ive rang every number I can find on google- all are dead numbers, Ive searched for reviews on them & all I can find is problems with them on Amazon.... their ratings are awful - 55% positive, 11% neutral & 34% negative.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of checking this company out?
Thank you

They are on companies house so at least you know that they are registered.

very dodgy looking site though? http://www.thelocalweb.net/index/ACM/tlw_819747.htm
I would call your local trading standards and see what they say or call the hmrc with there vat number
(Vat no. 886 9532 57) and see if they can shed any light on an alternative phone number.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Thanks for the reply Sarah.
I will do that now....0 -
Ok... I rang up and was basically told they appear legitimate in that they are Ltd & registered at Companies House & all their reg numbers match.
Been told to wait 30 days from the order & then if it hasnt arrived to ring Consumer Direct.
Hopefully my parcel will arrive though! Fingers crossed!
Thanks for the point in the right direction Sarah.0 -
looking at amazon last feed back was in 2007 i reckon they not been in business on amazon for a long time they where threatening amazon with court action in all the seller responses saying amazon wasn't paying them
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/seller/feedback.html?ie=UTF8&isAmazonFulfilled=&marketplaceID=A1F83G8C2ARO7P&isCBA=&orderID=&asin=&marketplaceSeller=0&seller=A2VRU1BO1BQYEV&isPopup=
doesn't look good just tried there website and is down i suspect maybe gone presuming is (http://www.thedaft4artncraftsuk.org/) unless is something else as you havent put up a url. i would suggest going to you bank doing a chargeback or if paid with the credit card company and let them take care of it as havent recieved goods
use http://www.whois.net/ to look up any company but some can go on a hidden register so don't see details0 -
Thanks for replying.
It is that website but its .co.uk at the end.... just checked & its still up & running.
I think for now I will give them the benefit of the doubt, what with the recent weather causing delays perhaps Im being to quick to judge... its not even 2 weeks yet.
I managed to find a number that worked- admittedly its an answerphone that promises someone will ring me back- but its a start!
In the mean time I will look in to what you said about chargeback- its not something I was aware of in regards to debit cards.
Thank you for the advice.0 -

I too have had dealings with this company, ordered items 15th December, took £61 off my card day after, e mailed asking for updates to see if I was to receive items before Christmas. Finally received reply stating 'no' Promised a refund before Christmas, as of today, nothing. Ignoring e mails and phone calls (messages left)
This is without doubt the same company that traded on Amazon a few years ago and was subsequently banned.

Hi Sarah
dont manage to get on here very often . Just seen your post.
I dont know this particular craft site at all . But I do know that a lot of the reputable sites have been taking orders ( which I think may be processed automatically ) and are not posting them out till after Monday. ( most of the sites doing this do however have a note on the front of the website )
I hope your order gets sorted soon.
If you were after anything in particular I have a very very long list of craft blogs and shops and might be able to point you in another direction if you want to message me
hope that helps a bit

I ordered from them last year and after chasing them for TWO months for my order they finally admitted they couldnt source the item (which was still being advertised on their website) they then took over a month to issue me a refund and (IMO) only did so because I got my CC involved.
I think they are legit, just not very organised and a bit unprofessional. Needless to say I wont be ordering anything from them again :rotfl::A:A:A:A:A:A0
