Trainee study contract

I'm currently on a trainee contract which include study allowance but want to leave the company but study clause says I have to stay for a year after they make payment or they can take it back.
Does a year start from when they pay the college or 6 months after When you do exam? Contract doesn't make clear wanted to get some views.

If a contract is not clear, then it would be open to interpretation in court. Therefore, if I was in your position, I would take it to mean from when they paid for the course.
You have stated in your first paragraph "study clause says I have to stay for a year after they make payment" so you have kind of already answered your question.....:D0 -
