Only mugs with too much money get an iPhone. Android all the way.

Am having a minor problem with my iPhone so I took it into the Apple shop on George Street in Sydney.

"You got it wet, I can see by this red dot", says he.
"Ok, but I've not dropped it in my beer or used it in the shower. It has been known to rain in Sydney", replies Generali the impossibly handsome yet implausibly modest hero of the tale.
"Yeah, well the gold connectors start to corrode when they get wet ya see. I can do you a new one for $249".

Being MSE I am looking at the possibility of this as my contract is up at the end of march.
Three do an android phone , and if you top up £10PM you get 100 mins, 3000 texts and 500mb download allowance. I would rather they dropped the texts and increased the mins. I might have to go for £15 per month.

I know what you mean. Most people I know have bought Iphone in the last couple of years, the ones that haven't have bought Android cos it's cheaper.

Weird you think people with too much money are mugs. Surely it's the ones with too little ;)

I read that before the link, how funny the most unreactive metal is corroding. :)
Maybe you have had some fairly strong acid rain (Aqua regia) but you would usually show some marks of that on yourself, mainly becoming a liquid.

Have you been on 3 before? I've just left them because of signal problems and awful customer service.

People don't actually buy the phone do they ? I'd of thought most have contracts, and most tariffs are similar. And to call people mugs because they chose something different to yourself is a little small minded.

    Horses for courses.
Have owned outright since Sept 2009, however I'm of the firm belief that high prices are a cancer on society, they have sucked money out of the economy, handing it to banks who've squandered it.

Blimey Gen you'd be pretty unlucky to ruin the litmus paper due to rain!

Be honest, you dropped it down the toilet didn't you ;)

Been with them for years, customer service is pants but never had a signal problem best uk coverage IMHO (for phone calls anyway but that may be down to it being able to roam other available networks)

Yeah that was probably a bit strong, apologies for any who were offended.

Unfortunately I think people aren't really aware that they can get a smartphone with close to the same functionality as an iPhone for substantially less money. One has to give credit to Apple's marketing department for that one.
