In the summer I put some cherries in jars with brandy and some sugar. The plan was to drink the brandy and cook the cherries in a cake.
Can anyone recommend a good recipe for the cherries?
Many thanks of any help.

I made chocolate muffins and added some cherries that I'd made cherry vodka with. Cherries go well with chocolate, so any chocolate cake recipe would work I'd think.0

Alternatively, spoon the cherries over some really good chocolate or vanilla ice cream, for a simple festive desert.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
My mouth is watering...
I was thinking of traditional fruitcakes, but the chocolate idea is heaven!
It is the first time that I have tried putting cherries in brandy, I am really looking forward to them.
Edited to add - I was wondering about cooking them to reduce the neat brandy that they have been soaked in. I think I may gently warm them through and pour them over eg chocolate cake and add some custard.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
