Adult's witch costume

Hello everyone :hello:

I'm not sure where to start so I thought you guys could help MY aunt (nearly 40) is looking for a witch's costume for a Hallowe'en party. I'm sure we can dig up a long black dress somewhere but does anyone know where she could find a broom/hat/other accessories to go with it? She's got three young children and the party's on saturday so she doesn't have much time to shop!

Anybody have any ideas? I tried a search to see if something similar had been posted before but it's all kids costumes so any help would be appreciated :beer:

Poundland - surprisingly everything is a quid - bought my daughter some stuff today. Not bad at all really.

Also if anyone has any ideas of how to make it a bit more original? I'm sure there'll be about 30 witches there, it's the obvious choice! :j

If you have time to make something yourself, you could always make your own hat using a plate as a base and using strong paper/wallpaper in a cone and colour it - spray paint, staple material, luminous items - get the kids involved etc.

The broom could be some old twiggs off the bushes in the garden as they are all ready for cutting back & tied to an old pole or piece of stick.

I used a black skirt for a cape by taking out the zip and undoing the seam, I then used a hook/eye or even velco to keep it done up around the neck.

Finally I have used disclosing tablets (from the dentist) and used it to blue my lips, failing that some mixed sherbert also does the trick on the tongue too.

I had to do this for my 16 year old daughter last year. She borrowed my long black dress (and ripped the hem :mad: ) we got a broomstick about £1.99 from tesco, a hat 99p from the local shop and some black nail varnish. Go for a goth, sort of pale makeup and exaggerate the eyes with eyeliner.

Tesco has got alsorts in black teeth finger nails loads of stuff under a £. There has been another discussion on here will try and find the thread for you.

Great Cheap Halloween Costume Hunt

but this is the name of the thread it is one that Martin started. I went on serch and put halloween costume and it came up. If you put the whole title in it shows up as no matches found.
