Thought this was the best place to put this.
From the WLC website...
Make sure you take a bag or bucket as well as a spade as you are helping yourself from a pile in the yard.
Grit available for collection
Grit can be picked up for free at Guildiehaugh depot in Blackburn Road, Bathgate, opposite Tesco, between 9am and 6pm, seven days per week. It is also available from our six Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) from 9am to 6pm daily.
The six CRCs are located at: Blackburn, East Mains Street; Broxburn, Greendykes Industrial Estate; Linlithgow, Braehead Road; Livingston, Nairn Road; Livingston, Oakbank; and Whitburn, Dixon Terrace, Burnhouse Industrial Estate.
Please bring along a bag or similar for carrying the grit home.
A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, it is not possible to refill West Lothian's huge network of 1,600 grit bins during the current conditions. It would take 60 crews an entire day to restock them, and those resources are needed for snow clearing as a priority at the present time.
"However, local residents are welcome to collect grit from any of the seven locations detailed above spread across West Lothian. Make sure you bring something to carry the grit and please only take what you need for yourself, or any neighbours or family unable to collect their own."
