  • you should be able to buy everything listed for the core xbox
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something

The HDD is used to store game demos / film trailers / games and other stuff you can download from Xbox Live

How are you connecting the 360 to the HD tv ?
Only the HD cable will give you a true HD picture when gaming with the 360 on a HD TV

The 360 premium pack (the one with the HDD / wireless controller etc) has the silver cd draw

You need to connect your xbox to your tv via the component connection, have a look here for more details - http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/xbox360/highdefdetails.htm
