Was in ASDA this evening and they were putting out poinsettia plants and they were absolutely flying out. Everythere I looked people had them in their trolleys. They were lovely and full ones and they were only £1.99 each.

Indoor Poinsettia Care
Root rot from overwatering is the number one cause of premature poinsettia death. Whether the plant is white, pink or red, the care is the same. The soil should be allowed to dry completely between waterings. While the plants are indoors, usually in a bright window, a cup of water every two weeks is ample, and the best watering method is to place the plants in a bowl or saucer of water so that they absorb the moisture from the roots. After the leaves drop, the plant should be trimmed back.
Since poinsettias, like everyone’s favorite aunt, are highly sensitive to any temperature variation, they should be kept out of drafty areas and placed where they get at least six hours of sunlight.

I kill every plant that comes into the house - even a supposedly indestructible bamboo from Ikea but my poinsettia from last year is still going strong (I always get one from m-i-l and I don't even like them much) It doesn't get watered very often, which sounds like the right thing to do - although in my case its absent mindedness rather than knowing about plants. I'm sure to get another this year so I'll see how it gets on.0 -
They were FROM £3.95 in B&Q today!0
