you know zulu dawn i would really really like your calculation to mean something but unfortunately in its current format its just a bit of good natured fun(clever calcs though:beer: )

I know you ve got an underlying serious point inside all this ,and its a theory ive held for years now that we cannot compartmentalise one or two sections of our lives but everything has to work in balance(much akin to the eastern medical practices of curing the whole body and not just the sore back)

I think there probably is a mathematical calculation to establish whether someone should qualify for credit but it would involve many aspects being taken into account and who knows maybe you will get the answer:T

the link between obesity and poverty s strong and my feeling on that point is that its a darn lot cheaper to buy a pastry type snack than a healthy snack(sausage roll at lunchtime costs say 45 pence but the low fat cheese and ham sandwich on wholemeal bread costs maybe £2.00.......can of fizzy juice compared to a fresh orange juice etc etc)

good luck on your quest and its good to know someone else is working on these theories too albeit from a different angle:beer:

There is definately a strong link between poverty and obesity. I constantly struggle with my weight (although I am not obese, just could do with loosing some pounds). I am not in debt, but I bit of a compulsive saver. I do however always look for ways of not spending money, I guess like many debt free wannabes.
  • I am sure that the op wasn't inteneding on this being a serious scientific study but I do suspect that there is often a link because of the pschological issues between over eating and overspending. Both things are designed to fill a hole as it were and both things seem linked in my own case.

Incidently, as I have gained more control over my debts and spending I have lost 5 stone!

I am starting to get control of my debts and am starting to lose weight too (I'm doing better on the debt that the weight). Maybe we should set up fatsavingsexpert.com!

I think it's about control and our emotional state. Sometimes we just let ourselves go in every way.
