Unpaid tax letter - connected with bankruptcy

I recieved a letter from HMRC saying i'd underpaid my tax by nearly 2500k - during the 2008/09 tax year.

This was the same tax year in which I went bankrupt - and after a 30 minute wait on their phone line this morning I was informed that they have had lots of calls about unpaid tax for those who have gone bankrupt - and that the letters were sent out incorrect.

She said she would get another letter sent out to me saying that I did not infact owe any money but that would take around 4 weeks.

So - if you get an unpaid tax letter and you went bankrupt then you should be ok - but probably best to call up and just make them aware.
