XBOX kinnect 4gb or 250gb?

I am a wii owner, as a treat I thought I would buy the kinnect for OH as he doesn't get much for himself through the year.

I've been looking online and it seems there is a 4gb and a 250gb (hard drive). I would only want the machine memory space for game saves and wondered if it is actually worth going for the 250gb as my pc is hooked up to the tv via media centre for films and music.

Never owned an Xbox so a complete newbie to it all and any advise greatly appreciated before I take the plunge.

  • I take it you're talking about buying an Xbox and Kinect together? The Xbox has the memory, the Kinect is the motion sensing device.

The 4 GB will suffice if there's no requirement to go on-line and it's just being used for saved games. The larger hard drive allows games to be stored on the drive, downloading of extra content such as games and map packs, and media storage.

  • This following is taken from the Games Consoles guide:

Xbox 360 4GB Kinect (Play games without using a controller, using just the wave of a hand or the sound of your voice)
    • £247 collect in store for free at Asda
    • £249.98 delivered with Kinect Adventures at Argos*
    • £249.99 delivered with Kinect Adventures at Amazon*
    • £249.93 delivered with Kinect bundle at The Hut
I've not checked these out but might worth checking. The Games Consoles guide was last updated 29 Nov 2010.

There may be a little cashback to be had as well, or Nectar points for Amazon.

Thank you for your help. I think I'll go for the 250gb as no doubt I'd buy the 4gb and discover at some point that I should have got the 250gb :D
I'll have a good google today and see what I can find.

Ok, getting more confused now. Found a portable xbox 250gb hard drive?
Does this mean I could buy the 4gb xbox with kinect package and plug in this hard drive? There seem to be good packages with the 4gb and not so many with the 250gb and kinect?

Yes defintely get the 250gb, it is more money but it is worth it, yes you would only end up kicking yourself if you had bought the 4gb

    I want a 250gb + kinect too, but I can't even find a decent package :(

  • Right, having looked at this all morning I've decided I'm going with this: 250gb Xbox Kinect package with joyride for 329.00
It's with Very and will be paying in full due to interest costs. Tesco is sold out of their package and Argos is £300 with the one game so I think this will do me, plus I can get 8% (£26) cashback via quidco which pulls it down to £303.

    Going to go order.
