true. but you know, you aren't going to go through the rest of your life buying/selling/buying/selling. well, thats my theory. just want a home to be my home. some form of paradise :)

In which case you will have to accept what you can afford now and make do.

Most people accept that they will have to buy and sell a few times to get the house they would like in the end. What makes you think you should be allowed to jump to your final house?
  • well i could say the same about women and relationships (on a personal level!) :):p

i dont want to have to go through my entire life trying to buy and sell. i dont believe in that, wasting time and energy.

Most of us who have bought their first house had to live on baked beans and secondhand furniture for the first five years or so but it does get better and you can usually afford the toast to go with the baked beans after that.

There is a problem with this approach in that the housing needs change over time.

    Single
    Couple
    Family
    couple
    old people.

If you try to match all these you need a large family sized bungalow that you can shut sown part of when you get old.

There is also locations, many people find they move locations.

If you can combine the two it can work quite well.

Single->couple ... town, going out doing things.
Couple->family ... schools shops bigger house
family/couple .... think about retirement might be country or village smaller place
Couple-> old people .... bungalow or flat(stairs are the issue)

then you have jobs to think about.

You could go for the family house now and get lodgers that would help solve the finacial problem.

Another option is to focus on getting a rich partner.
makes the first place 1/2 price or less.
