A couple of questions from a Newbie!

Hi,

So, having spoken to National DebtLine at length and reading everything I can get my hands on - we're ready to go Bankrupt - Scary!

Just a couple of questions at the moment:
1. is it no longer possible to do the forms online?
2. my husband gets paid weekly directly into our bank account. I knot that we need to set up a basic bank account after we get our Bankruptcy order but if there's an overlap and he gets paid into the old account will the OR let us have his wages - we can't cope without them!

thanks in advance

  • you can set up and work from your new basic bank account before you go BR, that way your wages, standing orders, direct debits, and benefits etc are all sorted out and its one less worry before going to court.

i went into a branch of Barclays and got set up with a basic account there in less than 10 days, including getting my debit card through the post etc.

  • I would set up the new account before you got Bankrupt this is what out debt company told us to do. Including drawing out the whole of ou overdraft. Then shut your old bank down.
