I want a cheap good dvd recorder that will be able to record from freesat.
Anyone know any good deals?
The best I have found is this one:
LG - DRT389H Digital TV DVD Recorder with USB 2.0 Interface £104.90
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0018BTP7O/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
Thanks

Have you tried searching the MegaShopBot?
Pixmaina has the LG DRT389H Digital DVD Recorder for £99 + £5.90 delivery though works out 104.90 altogether, same as the Amazon deal. Couldn't find any discount codes either.
If you do want the LG - DRT389H and think you can wait for the price to come down then maybe you could try traking the price using Price Protectr, if you're not in a rush to purchase.0 -
Thanks Lugh - I didnt know about MegaShopbot - it's been added to my favourites.
Its frustrating because in some of the reviews I have read people saying they bought the same dvd recorder for £69.99 new.
I really want a freesat recorder but they are ridiculously expensive.0 -
There was one advertised on QVC yesterday for 66 quids. It was Toshiba with 250 GB HD.

Thanks Lugh. I have seen some refurbished ones on the net - Im just always a bit cautious about them. I would probably consider one at less than half the new price.
For now I'll just keep looking and waiting for any reductions I can find on a new one.0 -
I actually heard about Tier1 on HotUKDeals and people have given it some good reviews.
This is the thread I found it on, it was a combo deal for a Sanyo 26" TV and the LG DRT389H.
Personally though I would go for a PVR rather than a DVD recorder though if you want a good one you'd have to pay somewhere around £100. A couple of advantages with a PVR are, you can record stuff off the internet and most able you to record two channels at a time. You can get cheaper ones though I'm not sure what they are like. There was one mentioned on HotUKDeals for £16.82 but again I'm not really sure what this is like, you'd have to do your own research to find out.
By the way, do you know a reliable website for finding info on DVD players, etc? I've had a look on Cnet but the only PVRs I saw were mostly around the £250 & £300 mark. Might make a few enquiries after Christmas.0
