Morning all
I ran out of bread the other day and didn't fancy a walk to the shops in the rain nor did I have the time to knead bread and leave it to rise so I scoured my hoard of collected recipes and came across this one, it must be one of the quickest and easiet I have made. Thought I would share it with you (sorry if someone has posted this previously).
400g/1lb wholewheat flour or strong bread flour. 1 teaspoon bicarb of soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 125g/5oz natural yogurt, 5fl oz warm water.
Sift flour and bicarb into large bowl, Make a well in the centre and pour in yogurt and warm water. Stir together and knead into a ball (add a little more water if required). Place on an oiled baking tray, mark a deep cross on top of the loaf and bake at 220C, 425F, Gas Mark 7 for 30 minutes.

Thanks for that. Did it taste any different to other homemade bread? Might give it a try for a change.0

Hi organic wanabe
the bread tasted fine, no complaints and no leftovers so must have done something right.0 -
Mmm it sounds similar to the ingredients for soda bread. I'll try that one, thanks.:smileyhea0
