Payment Arrears on Direct Debits

Hi all,

Went BR on 17th Nov, and was in arrears on Mortgage and Secured loan by 2 payments each.

If I now have my Direct Debits set up with my new bank (Co-op), to enable me to contunue with my monthly payments to both creditors, would they be able to attempt to take the arrears as well through my direct debits. ie: take out more than one payment at the same time?

Just worried that they would be able to completely wipe everything out that I have in one go!

Both creditors know that I am BR.

Many thanks.

Hi Chuckie, not 100% sure to be honest.....they could do, have you contacted them about how to arrange the payment of the arrears? Maybe you can come to an agreement before DD's are taken out. Hopefully someone who experienced this can help further.

    Best wishes
