What sticky stuff could hold a sandal insole?

I have a pair of gold sandals I am about to chuck.

They are perfectly ok and in good condition though the insole (the thin material wear the size is) has come off.

I have used adhesive but they slip and show when I am wearing.I can wear them without insole as it looks awful and sticky.

Please help me and recommend a super- duper hold adhesive before I throw them away, needed for a wedding and I am not an easy size to come by.

well you`ll probably not believe it but I bought glue from poundland to glue a vase I had dropped and had tried superglue but you don`t get time to to position things with it . I had picked this up one day I was in poundland and thought I would give it a try, unless you knew it had been chipped you wouldn`t know. I have since used it for other things and it`s as good as more expensive ones I`ve used.It`s called glue tech and is in a black and red tube. hope this helps.

A shoe repair place should have something that would work. Might cost you a few pounds, but better than chucking an otherwise good pair of shoes!

I have not tried this myself but it looks like a suitable product, might be cheaper in the likes of wilkinsons if they sell it.

you want a latex glue, it's what's used in the shoe manufacturers

I took a pair of cherished sexy sandals to the shoe-menders for the same reason. The lovely chap there only charged me a pound and they were just like new.

You could get rid of the stickiness on the shoe with talc powder, it works really well, you just need to rub a little on to the sticky areas and hey-presto, all smooth! I have done this with several pairs when the price label has left a residue.

I can't think of anything to stick on to cover the look of them tho, if the inside of the shoe is visible around your foot. I would likewise go to a shoe repairers. It will be much cheaper than buying a new pair!

I did try my local menders but he said he couldnt. Nothing stops me from trying another though!

Otherwise I will try the adhesives...maybe Araldite.

DO not use Araldyte, it dries too hard.

Use UHU contact adhesive.

Spread over both surfaces, leave 10-15 minutes (whatever the instructions are for it becoming tacky) then press together.

Be sure to place it in the exact position as you do not get any movement.

Then leave it for the required time (about 24hrs) before wearing them.

You will not need to spread it all the way to the edge, live it 5mm from the edge so you get none showing.

If done right the stuff sticks like poo to a blanket and should last for ages.
