Hi Newtobudgeting
I would add things like
"I have really enjoyed my time working with you/the team (as appropriate) over the last four years, however, I feel it is time for me to move on and accept new challenges"
Be very very clear about the time you intend to work ie I hereby wish to terminate my employement from the date of this letter (make sure you date it!) and hereby give four weeks notice ending on (put date here to ensure no confusion)
Keep it official but friendly, remembering you may want references etc in the future.
Goodluck in your new job:beer:0 -
I assume you have discussed this with your current employers so you will be formally confirming any conversation you have had. Including your official leaving date, which may of course not be the same as your last day at work if you still have any leave due to you.
Do keep it professional and try to find time to thank them for all the good times you have had and how you have appreciated being part of a team etc etc (if any of that is appropriate of course)We all evolve - get on with it0 -
There is a great website called I-resign. They have templates to use, I have recently handed my notice in to move on to another company and i used one of the tmepltes cut and paste it to word andthen altered it slightly to make it more personal from me.
That way i didn't forget any of the important stuff like leaving dates, holiday remaining etc...
Hope that helps0
