Well, it's seems the lecture I gave myself last night may have done some good as I did shift myself (although not straight away) and finish the ironing. Didn't make lunches for today though but baby steps!
Today will be low spend - have to pay for parking and avoid the chocolate machine ...... The temptation will be that parking ruins the NSD, so why not have chocolate!
May be about to have words with MrL over money and allowing his daughter (encouraged I suspect by her mother) to treat him as bank with unlimited funds.
hopefully not though as its going to be a gorgeous and productive weekend!! I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
As predicted I gave in to the chocolate machine and had a very yummy wispa. I'm not feeling too bad about it though as according to myfitnesspal I have stayed under calorie target despite this.... And despite the fact that I am currently decluttering what's left of a tube of Pringles

The washing machine is currently at work so there will be a load ready to go out on the line first thing. Meal plan is being formulated with BBQ featuring a lot! After all we have to make the most of sunshine.
So plan for the morning.
Washing out
Washing on.
Shower,
Strip and remake beds
Shopping
Potter in garden
That will do, weekends should have chill timeI do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Last weekend was very productive - decluttered garage a fair bit, sorted some [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] pre-loved treasures for car boot sale & sold some bits via facebook and made £65 so far with another £15 to come tonight.
this has been split £38 to CC, £27 to the slush fund. the £15 will be £10 cc & £5 slush fund.
This weekend however I am struggling to stay at work for 4 hours and have been checking previous payslips to decide whether or not its worth it!! from my calculation 4 hours will be worth £8 more than 3 hours. dilemmas dilemmas!!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Well I am now home alone for 10 days as MrL has gone away for work. To make it worse am poorly sick with stupid streaming cold so am feeling very sorry for myself.
I have various plans to make the most of the time to myself, all of which need me to feel better! Continuing the decluttering, strange meal plans to use up stuff in cupboards & freezer and maybe get some exercise, and some pamper me sessions.
The biggest job to do is to update spreadsheets as it was payday last week!!! That's shockingly bad.
I also would like to kick start the diet and lose 2lbs before MrL returns..... Given that am not particularly hungry cos of this cold, that should be easy!!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Bleugh. Think that just about sums it up.
The cold is easing, but has been replaced by an unpleasant cough. However, I did sleep through the night last night which is the first time for over a week. That's got to be a good thing?
Today is a planned day off, as is Monday and I am keen to not let the bleugh win. I have a pamper me session booked at 12, was hoping to go for a swim and have to decide about a car boot sale tomorrow. Stuff is ready, it all depends on the weather.
Still not updated spreadsheets. That is a MUST for this afternoon.
For now my task is to shower, and recover from that!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Shower - check.
Recover from shower - just about.
Hair dry - check
Hair about to be straightened for first time since Tuesday - that's got to mean am feeling better, right?
Not had any breakfast yet which isn't normal for me, and isn't good, but I had a horrible coughing fit while brushing my teeth which ended up with almost being sick and really can't face food.
Need milk so will probably get a nice uncut loaf at the same time and have doorstep toast when I get home. Have a cheque to pay in to bank - compensation from British Gas so will do that while in town. Aiming for minimal spend!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Cheque didn't get paid in as ran out of time - was already over on car park so couldn't risk going to the bank - could have ended up with parking ticket which isn't MSE at all! Gives me a reason to go for walk on Tuesday though.
There was a continental market in town today, all I noticed was crepes.... Was tempted to stop n buy, but decided to make pancakes when I got home. Hey presto no spend at shop, and I have pancakes for breakfast tomorrow too, woo.
Tomorrow will be a spendy day as am going out for the day shopping with my mum. I have a budget, I just need to decide what I need (shoes, bras, possibly jeans) v what I want (more shoes, bags, dresses, skirts, tops, etc etc etc). That won't be easy!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
As normal when MrL isn't around, am posting on here much more - got no-one else to share my rumblings with... The kitties just don't get it!
Still bunged up, can't seem to get to sleep without horrible coughing fit which disturbs fluffy kitty who does her best to rumble be to sleep. So another poor night. But enough of the depressing.
Today has started well. I have unloaded the dishwasher while the kettle was boiling - it's taken me all day to do that these last few days! It's drizzly outside which means the decision not to car boot was the right one and on my non-official weigh in, I am down 1lb.
I have 90 minutes to get sorted as going out at 10.
In that time I need to
Cook pancakes
Shave legs
Shower
Dry hair
Moisturise all of me
Make bed
Make living room more inviting to come home to
Decide what to wear (that's the problem one)
Open more windows to let air in - this house is sooooo stuffy
should also have a quick peek at the credit card statement as the provider has been known to put a freeze on the card when MrL is in one country and I am in another - if he's used it at least I'll half expect a declined transaction!!! ( this is the daily use card that is paid off in fill each month, everything still budgeted for, just means more points for us....and points make prizes!!)
Happy Saturday people of the InternetI do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Shopping day was good, 4 skirts, one pair of trousers, pair of jeans, swimming cossie & 6 tops all came in under budget and I have bought my first Christmas present of the year.
Felt rough by mid afternoon and spent Sunday on the sofa, Monday I dragged myself to supermarket for essentials and petrol, scaled the ironing mountain and finally started to feel better early evening.
2 days back at work and haven't had to pay for parking, and thanks to the local mumndad cafe and some unusual meals to use up bits from the fridge I will get to the weekend without needing a proper shop.
I have a huge long list of things to do before MrL returns on Saturday - am not sure I will get it all done as could run out of time, but I've tackled some of the smaller jobs tonight which then should make the bigger ones easier.
Tomorrow I tackle the filing and will tidy n Hoover the dining room. And maybe write shopping list n meal plan for next week. And water plants.
Fingers crossed for free parking again tomorrowI do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Thank crunchie it's Friday. Not that I like crunchies!
My run of free parking ended yesterday, which was the start of a spendy day. No visits to the machine but......I went late night shopping. To the John Lewis sale.......
I wanted, no, needed bras. I struggle in this department. Over the years I have tried everywhere except Rigby &Peller. Different shops giving different sizes doesn't help. Bravissimo put me in a 32 which gave an incredible shape, but left me with horrible red welts. JL said 34, M&S 36. The best information I got was from the Freya factory shop. Measure at 32, but it is too small, 34 is too big which explained why the shape wasn't as good. Am a 33!! Anyway. JL sale, and also have some Freya on price match. Tried 6. Bought 1. I was happy. Then check out shoes. Again something I struggle with - 7&1/2 doesn't exist everywhere.... I currently have knee boots for wet, wedge sandals for sun. Needed something for the middle bit. Tried a few pairs, fell for some Nine West peep toes that didn't fit the need. Went on to Clarks. Found a pair that did fit the need and were half price. Also found a pair of flats (dont wear flats) that felt like slippers. Given the issues I have with finding one pair of shoes that I like and that fit. I bought both. But couldn't stop thinking about the Nine Wests. So bought them too.
The budget I was so proud to have been under on Saturday has been well and truly blown. On shoes. And I don't feel at all guilty.
I do think I'm going to be late for work though if I don't get a move on!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0
