Perhaps the ungratefull people on here who are moaning about Croker would rather check ALL the papers themselves first thing every morning and write a full list on here.
I honestly can't believe how ungratefull some of you are being!Busy working Mum of 3

Agreed, it isn't too hard to understand at all, I just look for moc (money-off-coupon) and Bc (barcode that will scan) and quickly check for anything else interesting. It takes about 5 minutes max and at least I know we are probably not missing anything nowadays.
Thanks again from me Crocker.:TPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I am not ungrateful, I am actually very grateful for the effort, however, I check this thread during work before I go to the shops after work to get any relevant papers, I only get a couple of minutes every so often, so it would be helpful if the information was a bit clearer.
I am not knocking crocker, in fact if you read my post, I thanked him for his effort and said it was on the whole helpful, perhaps some of you could get off your high horses and see some of the constructiveness of the posts instead of just the negative.
Is it also necessary to call into question people's intelligence?
This type of barbed retaliation is exactly the sort of thing that prevents a conversation progressing0 -
Fair point, but the first poster who complained about crocker was rude (IMHO), that was certainly what I was replying to.
I think the point is that there are ways of asking for help if you don't understand something, rather than merely suggesting that person who supplied the info should be clearer.
Perhaps YOU should make more of an effort when someone is so obviously doing you a big favour!0 -
Thanks for replying. I can see what your saying about dervish's wording.
when you look at the first post on every newspaper thread the details that are really required for deciding whether an offer or coupon is relevant are there, and those are really the only details I am asking for back, or perhaps at the very minimum, crocker's key could be pasted into the first post which gets copied over each day, and this would also help newbie's too, as the first time you see it it can be a little overwhelming with all the abbreviations.
I am not at all knocking Crocker's efforts, nor am I trying to discourage him from posting, quite the opposite in fact.
I am just trying to find a workable solution for everyone. I do think that clarity is something that is vital on something like a moneysaving website, we are all here because we financially need the help it gives us, and buying a paper and finding out your region does not have the offer or there are certain T&Cs that cut you out might make a big difference to someone like me who really can't even afford to waste even a small amount like 60p on a paper with a coupon/offer I can't use.
I am not defending rudeness or criticising the effort put into providing all these details.0 -
No problem, an interesting collection of views is what makes this site great.
I appreciate that you weren't defending rudeness! :beer:0 -
If you want better, then the only thing you can expect is to do it yourself.
If you want to make a suggestion, I would suggest wording it like: "Hi crocker, if you have any more time, will you please add some more detail to your post?"
Wording something like: "You need posts in WORDS NOT CODES!!! This thread was so much better before!! This is RIDICULOUS" is not helping anybody, and only upsetting people who contribute.0 -

I do not want croker to add more detail I want him to completely change the style of his posts into clear words and sentences so we don't have to constantly decode.
I also thank crocker for his time in scanning but he is only doing what other people were doing anyway - he has hardly invented the wheel here.
ALSO  I hate the way I have to refer to the 'signature' to find an explanation for the bizaare codes he uses. I normally have signatures turned off because normally they are completely boring, puerile and irrelevant in most cases.0
