DD not taken CCJ action threatened

Again you are in denial over this.
You are mixing up direct debits and standing orders. With a standing order you instruct your bank to make payments on certain dates.
But with a direct debit you allow your creditor to take money from your bank in accordance with certain criteria (which would include an "earliest" date they can take the money, but as previously posted if they wait for any reason then that is their loss as you still have the money credited to you till they do take it).
You agree you owe them the money - just pay it quickly as you are being advised in this thread.
If you have spent the money and cannot pay them, then get in touch with them quickly and explain the situation and ask them to allow you to pay off the arrears over a period.
But contact them quickly, and give up trying to blame them - that will just harden their heart against you and as previously posted could end up with big trouble for you.0 -
ok thanks for the advice. and i do budget to the best of my ability!0

It would appear from the OP's posts that they have a most peculiar idea of what constitutes budgeting.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
i like everyone else have a budget that i live by, dd's are set for a day when you know that funds are going to available, you leave money in the account to cover these, so therefore anything left at the end of the week regardless of the date i am going to spend
Myself, I have a spreadsheet with ALL of my regular payments listed. I then have a section where I can enter details of any cheques (not that I use them any more) or pending debit card payments. I then enter my bank balance and it tells me what I have left to spend. As the payments appear on my bank statement then I update the spreadsheet.
If a payment doesn't go out when expected, I leave the money alone. After a few days then I would call the claiming company to query why the payment hasn't been taken.
Even though you have a direct debit set up, you still need to take responsibility for your finances and ensure payments are being collected as expected and that funds are available for the payments. My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you?

i have sent a copy of my bank statement to speedloan showong the payment for october, they are still stating that this payment has NEVER been received! my bank has also confirmed that speedloan did not apply for payments in august or september, again they are threatening ccj action. i am concerned about setting up a d/d again in case payments go missing as there is no record with speedloan of the payment made in october, whose to say this payment hasn't come off someone elses account?0
