Bank charges

I have a load of bank charges most of which have been my own fault (misscalculations and forgotten payments resulting in failed DD SO fees then leading to overdraft fee) Am I likely to get any of this back from the bank and if I do will the bank still have me as a customer? If they don't will I be blocked from other banks?

If you join up with the consumeractiongroup website, it will answer all your question like these.

There is also a quick guide here.

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."

You should set up a "parachute Account" in the meantime.

    Definitely.

I set an alternative account the day I started my claim (took a couple of minutes to set an account up with smile) & as soon as barclays started being "awkward" about things I transferred all my direct debits & standing orders to the smile account so barclays no longer have any leverage over my finances.
  • i sent away a letter to my bank asking for list of charges for my account and they sent me one back saying i would have to pay £10 for them to do that is that right or wrong?

They can charge £10 for a DPA request. As has already been said all the information you need is on the consumer action group website. They also have forums specific to each bank/building society/credit card company.
  • Thanks Blackcat i will have a read of it.
