Which pastry is used for savoury pie?

Options
I want to bake a pie at the weekend but how do you make the pastry ? Is it the same pastry as used in quiches?
And do you just glaze it with an egg or something?

You can use shortcrust (like quiche) or puff/flaky pastry :) Puff pastry is nice as it has lots of layers, so is crispy, but is more difficult to make.

You could try Delia's Rough Puff which is simpler :T

You could also use hot water crust pastry, which is the kind that's used for pork pies and is actually very easy to make.

And yes you brush it with beaten egg, or you could just use some milk if you don't want to use up a whole egg.

I always use a shortcrust pastry as it's quite simple to make. :)
