  • I just used the 20% code to get the winter wonderland hamper for £48 :D

    http://www.thorntons.co.uk/p/festive_hampers/52934.html

The total cost of the contents bought separately with the 20% off and 3 for 2s applied would have been £74.00

anyone know if the freebie hamper shows up in the order confirmation? It's not showing up on mine :) thanks

The code showed up on my order as 'accepted' but the hamper didn't show up on the actual order. I paid for next day delivery as I needed it for the weekend, so if it arrives today, I'll let you know (but I'm not holding my breath!!!) x

Well full marks to Thorntons for getting my order to me today by next day delivery....

but zero points for missing the 'free' hamper off the delivery.

Customer services are not answering the phone owing to being short staffed due to the weather, so I have e-mailed them, and will wait and see what happens.

No free favorites hamper here too. Very cross as the big hamper was a present and the favorites was for me. ugh

I have tried to phone customer services again today, and just got the recorded message saying they are short staffed due to the weather and so are not answering the phones. Well, okay - but things are getting back to normal now, traffic-wise, so hopefully it won't be too long before they start answering the phones (I did e-mail them but no reply so far).

    Just an up-date

I finally managed to get through to customer services this morning on the free phone number

    0800 4545371

Turns out that as well as putting the code in, I should also have 'bought' the free hamper. Because I didn't do that, it didn't show up in the order, and so wasn't delivered. They have agreed to send me a hamper out, but I've had to pay for delivery - which is a bit annoying as I paid extra for next day delivery on the original order as the hamper was needed for a present.

Oh well, lesson learned - but I do think the website should make it clear that the free hamper isn't automatically added to your basket, I know that I am not the only person who has been caught out by this.

Very disappointed in thorntons, added free code and they can see it but as above, need to pay £4.95 delivery for supposedly free chocolates. No offer of discount code, nothing.

I won't be ordering from them again!!

To be fair, every email i've had from Thorntons re free gifts and codes does state that you must add the item to your basket along with the code.
  • I have been waiting for my winter wonderland hamper for well over a week now:(. Rang CS (30 mins of holding and listening to the worse hold music ever!) and they have said it should be here by next wednesday. The tracking advice has been saying out for delivery with Hermes since Dec 8th. Was planning on using the contents for secret santa gifts but if it doesn't arrive soon, I will have to go out and buy something else.

By contrast, build a bear and bee.com both delivered within three days of ordering:D
