Im wanting to buy a white gold charm bracelet, ive been looking on the web and I have seen companies claiming they have the lowest prices and all the other things they say but i have seen the same items cheaper in other places, so how can I trust them? and how can I trust that they are a good company? Im finding it hard, if I was buying a washer or something then Id know when it arrived if it was real and Id be able to search for cheaper ones

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.:hello:0 -
I think its the same as with normal shops- you learn either by bad experiences (or good ones!) or through other peoples experiences.
Google the company, find out if there are any other reviews on it or other complaints posted on other boards.
Some posters on the site know how to get a bit more info on how the site was created, who owns the site and etc which may help a little more.
But as far as new companies go, if I had no choice but to go with a company I didn't already know (rare I would do this with anything costing more then say, £5) I would make sure the company was from the UK, that the contact details were professional (not a hotmal, gmail or yahoo account for example) I would google-map the company, try to see if I could see the company on a map- they could easily fake this I know but not all do. I would want a phone number and I would also want a real live person to contact. I would try to contact them to ask a few questions first, check out how well their customer service was and then get names and details to corrispond to should I have any further issues.
I would also say that as far as charm bracelets go, white gold combined is going to make it very expensive! I'd not risk going to an unknown company- even going via a magazine advertisment (written by the mag not submitted as a classified article) rather then an unknown place unless I really fell in love with it.
Have you tried other sites? if price is so important maybe silver or another type of jewellery could be an option; your asking about possibly the most expensive item of jewellery possible (bar a wedding/engagement ring). If a company is trying to say they offer the lowest prices going on such a normally expensive jewellery item, this would automaticly sound alarm bells in my head.0 -
The website is registered to Nuttalls of Chester. The reviews are not great, if it was me I would avoid.Gone ... or have I?0

I don't know how to do searches- you could try the shop-but-don't-drop board, but if your seeing something is cheap, I'd not take the risk (as explained above). Even if you get a long list of who owns the site, and even if that tells you a UK Citizen living in a place near your home owns the site, I'd still have doubts. If it looks too good to be true, 9/10 times it is.0

its not that its 'cheap' its about the going rate, most sites are selling it at the same price now ive been doing some checking, I need to know about the company I will/maybe buying from, with my luck id pay for it and it wouldnt turn up or itll be face or something lolThe message you have entered is too short. If its the same as the going rate, why not visit a store which feels a little more genuine?
Other then that, try a google search and see what comes up. If the site is very new, nothing will show. If its not very new and is terrible, something should come up.
Have you tried www.notonthehighstreet.com or www.etsy.com?0 -

Sorry for the confusion, I wasn't trying to suggest you visit them, just google them and see if any comments or reviews come up. Google does loads of stuff- not just maps, you can often find reviews of companies by typing in the name of the company or if you went on the shop-but-don't-drop board and asked someone who knows how to find out, the owner of the company and googled them you may get more info.
