  • What a great thread, my almost 12 year old is the same, we've already had a palaver with boots that had to be returned (which I ended up with a credit note for as I paid by high street vouchers, grr arrgh) she just doesn't like boots apparently, unless they are Converse. I totally second vampirey things and for t shirts, have a hoak at T K Maxx, they do Iron Fist stuff reduced and all sorts, we got her a t shirt that says 'I am nerd', my mother thought she would be offended by that..... She was into the Ed Harvy stuff too, so I bought loads of it on BrandAlley, I casually dropped the brand into conversation and she doesn't like it either now apparently. Total nightmare buying for these brats. I am actually dreading Christmas day as my son is only 5 and his stuff will look so much more. Damn you pubescent children! Going to google the headphones and hair do dah now!

  • Oooh finally I thread I can contribute too! As one who never grew out of their "emo" phase I would suggest a website called https://www.emp-online.co.uk for cheap, kooky clothing and jewellry that she might like. They do a great range of Emily The Strange and Nightmare Before Christmas items. Even bedspreads and bedroom bins etc.

If she's beginning to get bored with Twilight presents every birthday and christmas, I would suggest the Charlaine Harris books which were the basis for the TV programme True Blood. Maybe get her a copy of Lost Boys on DVD to show her how "old skool" vampires used to roll ;-) hehehe (Although best to check the age restriction on that film. I wouldn't want to get you into any trouble).

Maybe getting her or knitting her (nice and cheap) a pair of long fingerless mittens a la Bella from Twilight would be a good move too.

Do you know what bands she's into? Maybe a CD or iTunes voucher would be appreciated.

Anyway, I hope some of that helps. xx
