Guess the value of this week's item: This modern mantel clock made in the form of a pocket watch on an easel stand is some 44cm (17in) high and caught my eye at a recent auction. Did it make a large or minute price?

    A - £50
    B - £150 :D (We're not 100% sure, but it seems likely - see post below.)
    C - £250

[STRIKE]It appears to be the same as this one, but that sold for £110. Any ideas? ;)[/STRIKE]

    Thanks for posting! :D

I've had a really good look and I can't find anything else that looks anything at all like that clock, I wonder if they've made a mistake with the answers and they meant to put £110 as one of the options?

Either that or it's hidden away with a really obscure description, but I've tried searching for 'clock', 'watch', 'timepiece', 'pocket', 'easel', 'tripod', '44cm', 'stand' and 'mantel'.

The only clocks I could find with any of those 3 sold prices were this one (it's a pocket watch type clock, but looks like a wall clock and there's no mention of a stand), this one (it's a mantel clock, but the rest of the description is nothing like) and this one (it's a carriage clock so nothing like the description)

    Confused! :D

I had a good look too, and couldn't find anything matching the description. I think the one the OP found is the best bet....since the estimate was £100-£150, I'd go with £150 I think?

Thanks for looking. :D The first one you linked to seems to be the same and as it sold for £150 I'm going to go for that one.
